The Voice of Jeremiah: Obama, the man of Lawlessness is here! But you, O man of lawlessness, were previously restrained.
This is what the Lord says: “And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. Then that lawless one will be revealed …”
The Voice of Jeremiah: Until now only the power of God has been able to hold back the purpose of Satan for you, O man of lawless. If he could, Satan would have brought you onto the world scene long before now, for he has longed for you to appear. You are his false messiah, the one through whom he will rule the earth. But nothing, not even the purposes of hell, operates independently of God’s sovereign timetable.[1]
You, O man of lawlessness, have appeared because now is the time predetermined by God. Neither you nor evil will overstep your divinely ordained bounds. You the ultimate false messiah have arrived in God’s perfect time. But God will not allow you to be revealed to the world until all the redeemed, whom He chose for salvation in eternity past,[2] are gathered into the kingdom.[3]
But though you have been restrained, O man of lawlessness, evil has not! The mystery of lawlessness—the true character of lawlessness—has already been at work.[4] Evil, lies, hypocrisy, immorality, and false religion have permeated America and the world, and have grown increasingly worse over time, so that every generation has become more wicked than the one preceding it.[5]
Now, sin’s ultimate manifestation has come—it is you, O man of lawlessness! You are here, the manifestation of the true character of evil! And because you are now here, soon, God will also release demons from being bound in hell to inundate the earth.[6]
The sovereign, divine force that currently restrains you, O man of lawlessness is exerted by the Holy Spirit.[7] Only He has the supernatural power to hold Satan in check. One day in the near future, you will be revealed to the world. It will be when the Holy Spirit’s restraint ceases—when the cessation of His restraining work occurs.[8]
Your father, Satan, O man of lawlessness is perfectly aware of the fact that he cannot himself become incarnate, but he desires to imitate the second person of the Trinity as far as possible. He has yearned for a man over whom he can have complete control, and who will perform his will as thoroughly as Jesus Christ performed the will of His Father. You, O man of lawlessness, are that man!
Until now the devil has been frustrated in his attempt to put this plan into operation. Until now the Holy Spirit has held you back, the deceiver’s man of lawlessness. Until now Satan could only promote the spirit of lawlessness in the world. But this has not satisfied him. Now the divinely appointed time has come, the time has come when, as a punishment for man’s willingness to cooperate with Satan’s spirit, the Holy Spirit will soon be removed and Satan will begin to carry out his evil plans through you, O man of lawlessness!
The Voice of Jeremiah’s rebuke: America in your spiritual blindness you have sealed your own fate and fall to destruction by willfully placing yourselves under the rule and authority of the man of lawlessness. Therefore this is what the Lord God says: “Your own wickedness shall punish and correct you, and your turning from Me and desertion of faith shall condemn you; know therefore and recognize that this is an evil and bitter thing: first, you have forsaken the Lord your God; second, you are indifferent to Me and the fear of Me is not in you. You will learn how bitter and wrong it is to abandon Me, the Lord your God, and no longer to remain faithful to Me. I, the Sovereign Lord Almighty, have spoken.”[9]
