God is Merciful – Return to Him!

This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Son of man, go and proclaim this message to America, and say, This is what the Lord says: ‘Return, faithless America,’ declares the LORD; ‘I will not look upon you in anger. For I am merciful,’ declares the LORD; ‘I will not be angry with you forever. Only know, understand, and acknowledge your iniquity and guilt—admit that you have rebelled against the Lord your God and committed adultery against Him by worshiping idols under every green tree. Confess that you have refused to listen to My voice and not obeyed Me,’ declares the LORD. ‘Return home, you faithless, wayward children of America,’ says the Lord, ‘for I am Lord and Master and Husband to you. And I will take you not as a nation, but individually—one from a city and two from a family—and I will bring you to Myself.[1] Then I will give you spiritual shepherds and leaders after My own heart in the final time, who obey Me, who will lead you, feed you and guide you with My Word, with knowledge, understanding and wisdom.’”[2] 

The Voice of Jeremiah: The Lord God has caused me to pause in His message of condemnation and judgment of your rebellious and sinful ways, America, and offer you His message of repentance and hope. America, if you will return to God—from your “king,” to your leaders, to your shepherds, to your people[3]—He will frown on you with anger no longer and extend His great mercy to you. But you must acknowledge your guilt of sin—rebellion and idolatry—and repent and turn back to Him. 

Then, God will gather you up individually, one from every town and family of America and bring you to Himself. And to you repentant ones, know this; God will give shepherds and leaders who will provide you guidance and direction that is intended by God; men after God’s own heart.[4] And your numbers will increase greatly and, once again, you will be one nation under God—a sign of God’s amazing grace and blessing.[5] 

The Voice of Jeremiah’s plea: O America, the judgment hand of Almighty God is coming down upon you! But, the Lord Jesus Christ specializes in hopeless cases. He breaks the power of sin and He sets the prisoner free from the bondage of his sin.[6] Repent, mourn your sin, and turn back to God before it is too late!
