America – Your Wise Men Lead You to Destruction!

The Voice of Jeremiah’s rebuke: Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, and multitudes of their imitators—America’s “wise” men and “truth detectors”—“espousers of truth”—spew on and on that “the truth will set you free”—but their truth and wisdom does not set you free! Their truth and wisdom does not release you from the bondage of your sin, and it does not open your spiritually blind eyes! Thus it does not bring light into your dark world! 

So, America, what about these wise men that you have put your trust and faith in, these philosophers, these scholars, these brilliant debaters of this world’s great affairs? They lead you astray to your own destruction! They lead you to the U.S. Constitution rather than to the Bible! They lead you to Conservatism rather than to Christianity! They lead you to George Washington and Ronald Reagan rather than to God! America, soon, the LORD will make them all look foolish and show their wisdom to be useless nonsense”![1] 

The Voice of Jeremiah’s plea: O America, you are lost in your search for truth and wise answers to your plight, because you search in all the wrong places! Limbaugh, Beck, O’Reilly, Hannity, Levin, and others like them—the philosophers, the debaters, and experts of this age—bring nothing to you but human wisdom! They are wise in their own estimation;[2] their truth is made up of nothing but the brilliant ideas of man! And God will destroy their brilliant ideas for they are nothing but foolishness to Him![3] 

Thus says the LORD: For it is written, I will baffle and render useless and destroy the learning of the learned, and the philosophy of the philosophers, and the cleverness of the clever, and the discernment of the discerning. I will frustrate and nullify and discard the understanding of the experts and scholars, and bring them to nothing! I, the Sovereign Lord have spoken!”[4] 

The Voice of Jeremiah’s rebuke: America, your “espousers of truth” spew on and on that you are a great nation, but you are not a great nation! You believe that you belong to God, but you have abandoned Him! You belong to the devil![5] 

Thus says the LORD: “America, woe to you because you call evil good and good evil, because you put darkness for light and light for darkness, because you put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to you because you are wise in your own eyes and prudent and shrewd in your own sight! I, the Sovereign Lord have spoken![6]

The Voice of Jeremiah’s plea: O America, overwhelming chaos is coming to your nation! [7] No matter where I look, the LORD shows me ruin and devastation! Even the stable mountains will shake! Only God’s mercy can keep you from complete destruction! [8] But the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, specializes in hopeless cases. He breaks the power of sin and He sets the prisoner free from the bondage of his sin. [9] Repent, mourn your sin, turn back to God, and be saved before it is too late!

America – You are Doomed! – Your Sins Accuse You!

The Voice of Jeremiah’s rebuke and prophecy: America your crimes and your sins are piled up before God and testify against you! Yes, your sins accuse you! And you know what sinners you are! You know you have rebelled against the LORD, rejected Him, and refused to follow Him! America, you have turned your backs on your God! 

America, your feet run to do evil! You can hardly wait to do it. You never hesitate to murder innocent people. You think only about sinning. You leave ruin, misery and destruction everywhere you go, no one is safe when you are around. Everything you do is unjust. You don’t know where to find peace or what it means to be just and good. You follow a crooked path, and no one who walks that path will ever know a moment’s peace.

America, do you know why God does not save you from those who oppress you? It is because there is no justice among you, and you know nothing about right living! You look and hope for light to walk by but there is only darkness. You look for bright skies but walk in gloom. You grope about like blind people. You stumble at noon as if it were night. Among the living, you are like the dead.

America, you are frightened and distressed! You look for justice, but it never comes. You look for rescue, but it is far away from you. You long for God to save you from oppression and wrong, but nothing happens. It is because your thoughts are false and your words are lies! America, justice is driven away in the land. Your courts oppose the righteous, and justice is nowhere to be found. Truth stumbles in the streets, and honesty has been outlawed. Yes, truth is gone, and anyone who renounces evil is attacked.

America, the LORD has looked and is displeased to find there is no justice in the land! He is astonished and amazed to see that no one has intervened to help the oppressed. So He Himself will step in to save them! The LORD will use His strong arm, and His justice to rescue them and to win the victory! The LORD will wear justice and righteousness like a coat of armor and place the helmet of salvation on His head. He will clothe Himself with the strong desire to set things right and to punish and avenge the wrongs that people suffer. The LORD will punish His enemies according to what they have done, even those who live in distant lands. From east to west everyone will fear Him and His great power. In the west, people will respect the name of the LORD; in the east, they will glorify Him; for He will come like a raging flood tide driven by the breath of the LORD![1]

Thus says the LORD: America “Your own wickedness shall punish and correct you, and your turning from Me and desertion of faith shall condemn you; Know therefore and recognize that this is an evil and bitter thing: first, you have forsaken the Lord your God; second, you are indifferent to Me and the fear of Me is not in you. You will learn how bitter and wrong it is to abandon Me, the Lord your God, and no longer to remain faithful to Me. I, the Sovereign Lord Almighty, have spoken.”[2]

America – You are Doomed! – There is Great Injustice in the Land!

The Voice of Jeremiah’s rebuke and prophecy: America, there is great injustice in the land! Your people do not care about being truthful, fair, and honest. Their lawsuits are based on nothing but lies. They only sue for the sake of doing injury to others and to take undue advantage of others. They conceive evil deeds and then give birth to sin. And your evil and deceitful rulers are even worse! They are like pregnant women giving birth to sin,[1] they are like snakes hatching their eggs, and like spiders weaving their webs. What they give birth to will only destroy them,[2] and their beautiful webs of lies will not protect them!  

The LORD makes this accusation: “No one makes claims justly; no one pleads honestly. They trust in empty and worthless words; they conceive trouble and give birth to iniquity. They hatch viper’s eggs and weave spider’s webs. Whoever eats their eggs will die; crack one open, and a viper is hatched. Their webs cannot become clothing, and they cannot cover themselves with their works. Their works are sinful works, and violent acts are in their hands!”[3]  

 The Voice of Jeremiah’s rebuke and prophecy: America, there is great injustice in the land! Both you and your wicked rulers live on lies and deception—the entire nation lives in a twilight zone of consuming darkness and you do not know where you are going because the darkness of unrepentant sin has blinded your eyes![4] 

Woe to you, America! Truth, honesty, and justice have vanished in the land and the wrath of God is coming upon you![5] Woe to you, America! No one intercedes or intervenes![6] Thus the LORD Himself will intervene! He will bring destruction upon you, America! The LORD will teach you that His people cannot despise and mock His Law and get away with it! 

The Voice of Jeremiah’s plea: O America, the judgment hand of Almighty God is coming down upon you! But, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, specializes in hopeless cases. He breaks the power of sin and He sets the prisoner free from the bondage of his sin.[7] Repent, mourn your sin, turn back to God, and be saved before it is too late!
