The Voice of Jeremiah’s prophecy: O America, because you refuse to repent from your sinful rebellion and wicked ways and turn back to God, how lonely you one day will be. Once so full of people, you will one day be deserted. Once great and honored among the nations you will one day sit alone like a widow. Once the queen of all the earth, the noblest of nations, you will one day become a slave. America you will sob through the night; tears will stream down your cheeks. Among all your past lovers and former friends, there will be no one left to comfort you. All your allies will one day betray you and become your enemies.
Thus says the LORD: How lonely sits America that was full of people! She has become like a widow who was once great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become a forced laborer! She weeps bitterly in the night and her tears are on her cheeks; she has none to comfort her among all her lovers. All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; they have become her enemies.[1]
The Voice of Jeremiah’s plea: O America, overwhelming chaos is coming to your nation! [2] No matter where I look, the LORD shows me ruin and devastation! Even the stable mountains will shake! Only God’s mercy can keep you from complete destruction! [3] But the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, specializes in hopeless cases. He breaks the power of sin and He sets the prisoner free from the bondage of his sin. [4] Repent, mourn your sin, turn back to God, turn to the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved before it is too late!
